The LARGEST-a great crescent 635 kilometers long and 80 wide-
and the DEEPEST (1,637 meters from top to bottom-more than a mile)
fresh water body in the world is Baikal lake in Russia.
It holds one-fiffth of the planet’s fresh water and 80 percent of
the former USSR, more water than all of North America’s Great Lake combined.
It’s also the MOST ANCIENT-more than 25 million years-lake on earth.
